Research Interests
I am primarily interested in Quantum Algorithms for Number Theoretic and Algebraic Problems
There is a very common (but fortunately groundless) belief that Shor's algorithm is the only example of applying quantum computation to solve a number theoretic problem. I study ways to extend existing and find new applications of quantum computation in number theory and algebra.
In turn, design of many quantum algorithm is stopped by the lack of the relevant number theoretic results. So more mathematically inclined students may work on these aspects as well.
Current Topics I am interested in:
- Quantum attacks on some pseudorandom number generators
- Quantum algorithm for evaluation of some exponential sums
